An awareness and reflection experience grounded in lived experience, clarity, choice, and voice.
Beyond the Mirage
is a lived-experience-based awareness and reflection program created and facilitated by Jacqueline Lawson, author of Breaking Free From the Mirage: Unmasking the Abuse Hidden in Silence. Through guided conversation, storytelling, reflective activities, and practical language, participants explore emotional experiences that are often minimized, misunderstood, or difficult to name. The experience encourages participants to recognize what may have been hidden, name what they have experienced, consider their choices, and begin reclaiming their voice—at their own pace.
What Participants Can Expect

Lived-experience storytelling from Jacqueline Lawson;

Who It Is For
Beyond the Mirage can be adapted for community organizations, libraries, faith communities, women’s groups, educational settings, employee-wellness programs, nonprofit organizations, and other groups seeking meaningful conversations about emotional awareness, identity, boundaries, resilience, and voice.
The Two-Hour Introductory Experience
The two-hour Beyond the Mirage experience introduces participants to three foundational areas: recognizing what we have been taught to ignore, naming what happened, and finding our voice. Participants are guided through selected stories, group discussion, and reflective activities designed to build awareness without pressure, judgment, or forced disclosure.
